Student Loan Fund

In an effort to help address those financial realities a Student Loan Fund was established by Federation of TARC Alumni Associations. The program provides interest-free funds for students pursue their education in Tunku Abdul Rahman University College in Malaysia.

Conditions for Applicants

  1. Applicant must be pursuing full-time Diploma or Bachelor Degree or Foundation programme of studies in Tunku Abdul Rahman University College.
  2. Applicant should be financially needy and deserving.

Amount per Award

  1. TAR UC Student Loan amount for each academic year is either RM1,500 or RM3,500 or RM5,000 or RM8,000 or RM10,000 or RM12,000 or RM15,000.
  2. The value for TAR UC Student Loan award for each applicant will be determined by the TAR UC Student Loan Fund Committee taking into consideration the applicant’s financial circumstances, academic performance and character.
  3. Continuation of loan is subject to annual review of loan holder’s academic performance and character.

Procedures for Applications

  1. TAR UC Student Loan application form can be downloaded at the beginning of May and October semesters.
  2. The completed duplicate copies of application forms and the assessment form together with all supporting documents as stated below must be submitted to the respective faculty’s office at main campus or to the Student Affairs Office at the branch campuses before a set deadline.
  • Student’s Identity Card (Kad Pengenalan).
  • SPM/STPM/TAR UC examination results/results of other education qualifications.
  • Documents/certificates on extracurricular activities, if any.
  • Proof of parents’/guardian’s income.
  • Any other relevant documents in support of the application (i.e. death certificate, etc).



  1. All applicants are required to attend an interview to be conducted by the respective campuses. Please check with the respective campuses regarding the date, time and venue for the interviews.
  2. Only successful applicants will be notified.
  3. Successful applicants are required to sign an agreement between TAR UC, Borrower and TWO (2) Guarantors.
